Responsibilities

GVWUA is responsible for the flow of water in its canal, in its laterals and through its headgates. All parts of delivery systems (ditches, laterals, pipelines, pumps) beyond the headgates are the responsibility of landowners. If subdivisions in the GVWUA service area are interested in organizing their own laterals via a Homeowner’s Association, please contact the GVWUA at (970)242-5065.

Salinity Project and Seasonal Water Turn on/Turnoff Information

The GVWUA was awarded a Salinity Control Program Grant to line approximately one mile of canal through the Palisade area.  This project is scheduled to take place while water is out of the canal in the fall and winter months of 2016/17 and 2017/18.  Any remaining work must be finished by December 31, 2018.

Spring 2018 Salinity work was completed on Wednesday, March 28, 2018,  and will continue after irrigation water turnoff November 1, 2018, to be finished by December 31, 2018.

We will begin Salinity work lining the canal in the Paradise Hills area starting November 2018 and ending when water is turned back into the canal beginning of April 2019.

Thank you, we appreciate your cooperation.
